We are now open!
All guests will be required to book an entry time slot, including Annual Pass Holders, before you visit.
If you have a complimentary ticket or existing pre-paid ticket please call 01637 873342 to book your time slot, as we cannot process these bookings online.
To find out about our full Covid-19 safety measures that will be in place during your visit, please see our Staying Safe at the Zoo Guide.
Please note: the Council owned car park next to Newquay Zoo will be offering limited parking as it is currently being upgraded. The upgrades are due to be complete by early May. In the meantime we highly recommend using public transport or the car park adjacent to Heron Centre as an alternative.
Ticketing and entry
We are limiting the number of guests each day, including Annual Pass holders and anyone who has a complimentary ticket. Entry will be permitted in half-hour slots through the day (this refers to your arrival time, not the length of your visit).
In line with Government guidelines, we are unable to permit any groups of guests with more than six people into the zoo, unless your single household family 'bubble' has more than six people in it.
Tickets and time slots from 17th May to 20th June will not be available to book online until early May.
We're hoping that from 17th May, in line with the Government's roadmap proposal, we will be able to re-open our indoor exhibits at the zoo to guests.
The Government need to confirm that the next phase of the roadmap will be going ahead as planned before we release tickets and time slots from 17th May onwards.
We will of course keep you all updated as to when tickets from 17th May will be going live on our website and through our social media channels. Thank you for your patience.
WE CANNOT TRANSFER ANY TICKET OR TIME SLOT BOOKINGS.
From 12th April 2021 the zoo will be open from 10am – 5pm (the last bookable time slot will be at 3:30pm).
Which exhibits will be open/closed and animal off-shows
All outdoor exhibits will remain open, however indoor exhibits will remain closed until at least 17th May in line with the Government’s roadmap guidelines.
The Dragon Maze will remain closed.
|Exhibit||Is it open?||Is there a one way system in operation?||Are there entry/exit doors open?||Are face coverings required in the exhibit?|
|Gems of the Jungle||No||N/A||N/A||N/A|
There may be times when some of our animals may not be viewable at the exact time that you visit an exhibit, as we not do not 'force' them to be 'on-show'. If an animal is not immediately visible, they could be resting in their off-show area or somewhere out of view in their naturalistic exhibit, so please make time to pop back later in the day - it will be worth the wait!
Cases of Avian Influenza (bird flu) have been reported in the UK and, as a result, the government has imposed a prevention zone across the entire country. Here at Newquay Zoo we have many rare and endangered species of birds so it’s important that we do everything we can to protect them from this deadly disease.
We have not yet seen any cases of bird flu in Newquay, but to help protect our birds we have introduced a number of enhanced hygiene measures. One of these measures is to minimise the number of people that go into our indoor walk-through areas so, for the time being, only zoo staff have access to Gems of the Jungle and the Madagascan Walkthrough.
You can still see many of our amazing birds elsewhere in the zoo, and we look forward to welcoming you back to meet the rest of them soon.
Thank you for your help in protecting our birds.
Annual pass extensions
All Annual Passes have been extended for the length of time missed out on due to lockdown.
If we have to close at all again this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, Annual Passes will all again be automatically extended.
