We are open everyday from 10 a.m, except Christmas Day.

How do we get there?
Newquay Zoo is located on Edgcumbe Avenue, just off the A3058, 1 mile from Newquay town centre. Please use TR7 2NN for your sat nav. There is a council owned car park adjacent to the Zoo. Please note that this car park has a seasonal parking charge. To find out more about parking charges, please click here.
Visitors travelling to the Zoo by bus will receive a £1 discount on the entry price on production of a valid bus ticket (not valid with any other discount or offer).

Where can we park?

Is there disabled access?
Yes, the only areas not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters are our Tarzan Trail area and our Children’s play area near the meerkats.
There are some disabled parking spaces in the Council owned car park just outside the zoo, scooters and wheelchairs are available to hire from Independent Living Newquay Ltd by phoning 01637 498015..

What proof is accepted for a disabled concession?
We accept any of the below:
- Disability living allowance letter
- Blue Badge
- P.I.P payment award documentation

What happens if I don't have my student card?
You are still able to get a student ticket concession if you have the NUS or UNiDAYS app that shows both your photo and expiry date.
Can I hire a mobility scooter?
Electric scooters and wheelchairs can be hired in advance by Independent Living Newquay Ltd on 01637 498015.
Please note: You must be over 16 to hire an electric scooter. Additional costs for hire apply.
Can I bring my dog?
The following dogs are welcome when accompanied by and under the control of their owners:
- Registered Disability Support Dogs
- Registered Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
- Registered Guide Dogs for the Blind
- Registered Disability Assistance Dogs
- Registered Medical Assistance Dogs
- Registered Seizure Alert Dogs
To ensure the safety and welfare of the public, staff and animals on the premises, assistance dogs must:
- Wear their respective identifying jackets
- Carry their Environmental Health Card
- Carry their Identification Cards
Please note that the wearing of identifying jackets and the carrying of the Environmental Health and Identification Cards form part of the regulations for all Registered and Trained Support Dogs in the United Kingdom. Any assistance/support dog that enter the zoo must be working, dogs which are trained but are not working are not permitted in the Zoo.
We regret that we are unable to allow dogs into the Zoo unless fully trained. We are however happy to accommodate dogs undergoing training in the reception and gift shop area. Training is a part of the process when a dog is becoming a registered assistance/support dog. Can I bring my bike in?
Bicycles are not allowed in the Zoo. However, a bike rack is provided in the council car park outside.
Can I hold my party/wedding/event at the zoo?
We currently do not have function facilities available at the Zoo.
Can I hire a room for a corporate meeting?
We currently do not have function facilities available at the Zoo.
Do you take debit or credit cards?
Yes, we accept all major debit and credit cards other than American Express. There is no charge for their use.
Is there a cash point?
Unfortunately there is not a cash point on site. However we do accept all major credit and debit cards, except from American Express.
Where can we eat?
Café Lemur is open all year round and offers a delicious range of homemade meals and treats. Our Lazy Lion Grill also offers a range of yummy snacks and burgers and drinks from February to October. Meerkat Munchies, our ice cream kiosk, is open throughout the spring and summer months.

Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, we have lots of picnic benches throughout the Zoo as well as an indoor picnic area.
We do ask that you please do not bring food and drink from outside into our Café Lemur.
Can I return to my car during my visit?
Yes, just get your hand stamped in the shop before you leave for re-entry.
Can I smoke?
To ensure the enjoyment of our diverse range of guests visiting the Zoo every year, we have taken a balanced approach with our smoking policy which considers the welfare, needs and preferences of both our guests and animals in the Zoo.
Smoking is not permitted in outdoor queuing areas, food & drink outlets or picnic areas. We also ask for smokers to be considerate of other guests and to follow smoking restrictions shown on signs throughout the Zoo. We also request for you not to smoke at talks or during animal feeds.
Our smoking policy also extends to include vaping and e-cigarettes.
Do you have lockers or storage facilities?
Unfortunately not, but if you have something you would like to store please speak to our reception team about storing it with them.
Do you have play areas?
Yes, we currently have two outdoor play areas. Parents and guardians are required to supervise children in their care whilst in the play area at all times.

Can we feed or hold the animals?
To give our animals the most natural life possible, and for their welfare, we do not handle the majority of our animals. You can however get closer to some of our friendlier animals in The Village Farm.
Animal experiences are also available for several species at the Zoo, including penguins, lemurs, macaques, lions and red pandas. You can also get close and go behind the scenes with our Junior Keeper and Keeper experiences.
